Q: What first attracted you to estate agency as a career?
A: After completing my degree in Business and Marketing, I decided to shift my focus towards estate agency instead of pursuing a marketing career.
Q: Why did you apply to Gascoigne Halman?
A: I applied to Gascoigne Halman as living in Wilmslow, the presence of Gascoigne Halman's head office caught my attention on a daily basis. The numerous sale and lettings signs around the area also indicated their extensive property portfolio. Gascoigne Halman's reputation in the local community resonated with me, and the welcoming and accommodating interactions during the interview process solidified my decision to join the team.
Q: What does your day-to-day role involve?
A: My role keeps me active both within and outside the office. From conducting property viewings to managing incoming calls, my daily tasks encompass a variety of activities. I'm involved in accepting offers, presenting them to landlords, and ensuring all preparations are in place for upcoming tenant moves.
Q: Which areas of the business are you working within?
A: Currently, I'm part of the lettings department at Gascoigne Halman's Wilmslow office.
Q: What is your favourite part of the job so far?
A: I take great pleasure in conducting property viewings and engaging with potential tenants. Forming connections with landlords and assisting them in finding suitable tenants is a rewarding experience.
Q: What has surprised you the most about estate agency?
A: I've been taken aback by the intricacies of the rental process, having previously only observed it from the tenant's perspective. The substantial amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to finalise rentals and the constant influx of new properties hitting the market were both eye-opening revelations.
Q: What’s it like working with the team at Gascoigne Halman?
A: No day is the same, each day comes with different tasks and objectives to complete, which is perfect for me as I thrive on variety. The team has been incredibly welcoming and approachable, making me feel at ease as I transition into my role.
